Dates: Monday June 12th – Friday June 16th

Time: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

The child’s Parent, or Guardian, must come to the Church to sign a medical release/permission form when dropping their children off for VBS and must bring their drivers license to get them notarized. We will be at the church on Saturday June 10th from 10am – 12:30pm for anyone who wants to come register and get the medical release signed. Then starting Monday June 12th at 5pm. The Church address is 820 Pioneer Road; Mesquite, TX 75149.

Please note: Online Registration closes on Saturday, June 10th.

After that, you will need to register on a walk-up basis beginning Monday, June 12th.

In-Person registration for VBS 2017 will begin Monday, June 12th starting at 5:30 PM

Sunday morning prayer time – Everyone is invited to meet with the pastors and deacons each Sunday at 9:15 a.m.
for a time of prayer.
Women’s summer Bible study – All women are invited to attend a summer Bible study that will meet each Wednesday during the months of June and July at 6:30 p.m. in the old fellowship hall. Please bring a food item to be shared. Kim Prewitt will be leading the study on Jonah. The first meeting is on Wednesday, June 10.
Thursday evening volleyball – Everyone is invited to play volleyball each Thursday 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Play begins on Thursday, June 11.
Vacation Bible School 2015 – V.B.S. 2015 is Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24, 6:45 – 9:00 p.m. Classes will be offered for those five years old through eighth grade. For more information, please contact our V.B.S. 2015 director, Kim Prewitt. See an overview of the study here.

Movie night –  On Friday, June 12 the movie God’s Not Dead will be shown at 6:30 p.m. The church will furnish soft drinks and popcorn, or you may bring your own snacks. Everyone is invited.

Thursday, June 11

Pot blessing luncheon –  Thursday, June 11. Bring a covered dish and come enjoy the fun, food, and fellowship beginning at 10:00 a.m. Everyone is invited.
Thursday volleyball begins – Everyone is invited to play volleyball each Thursday 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Play begins on Thursday, June 11.

Chris Hamilton will be the speaker for the June 7 Encounter Friendship service, and Chudy Omelogu  will be worship leader.

Baby girl shower – for Clark, Jr., and Brittni Boone  on Saturday, June  6, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Friendship fellowship hall. They are registered at Babies R Us.

Tuesday, June 2

District W.M.A. meeting – Tuesday, June 2, at at Bethel Baptist Church of White Rock, Dallas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mattie Conway will be the guest speaker. All women are encouraged to attend.

News for May 2015

Sunday morning prayer time –Everyone is invited to meet with the pastors and the deacons in the sanctuary each Sunday  at 9:15 a.m.  for a time of prayer.
Quilts for sale – The quilters now have two quilts for sale; the proceeds from the sale of these handmade items will benefit missions. If you are interested in buying a quilt, please contact Eva Boone.
Encounter Friendship services – Our contemporary services, Encounter Friendship, are held on the first and third Sundays of each month. Encounter Friendship services begin at 11:00 a.m. in the fellowship hall, and feature contemporary music and a less formal atmosphere than the traditional service, which begins at 10:50 a.m. each Sunday in the sanctuary.
There is a need for singers and musicians for the Encounter Friendship services. Contact Mark Cox if you can provide music for this service.

Guest speaker –On May 31, Bro. Ashraf Sara will speak in our morning service. He is pastor of the Arabic congregation that meets at Northside Baptist Church, Garland.

Wednesday, May 27

Graduate recognition – On the evening of Wednesday, May 27, the youth department will honor this year’s high school graduates. For information on this event as well as other youth activities, please contact our youth minister, Sean Belknap.

Monday, May 25

Memorial Day holiday – The Friendship offices will be closed on Monday, May 25 for the Memorial Day holiday.

Life Group meeting – There will be a Life Group meeting on Tuesday, May 19 starting at 7:00 p.m. at Mark and Cheryl Cox’s home.

Mission trip lunch – There will be a fund-raising lunch on Sunday, May 17, immediately following the morning worship service. Donations will be accepted to benefit the summer 2015 mission trip. Menu information will be posted when it becomes available.

Saturday, May 16

Women’s prayer breakfast –  Saturday, May 16, in the fellowship hall beginning at 8:00 a.m. Please bring a breakfast item to share with everyone. The church will furnish the coffee and juice. All women are encouraged to attend.
Friendship class – The Friendship class will go to Babe’s restaurant on Saturday, May 16. Please meet at the church at 10:30 a.m. if you would like to ride in the church van.

Thursday, May 14

Mother’s Day –  In our morning worship service on May 10, we will honor the women of our congregation, and there will be no evening services on this day, in honor of Mother’s Day.

Wednesday, May 5

Guest speaker – On Wednesday,, May 5, Bro. Norcilus,  B.M.A.A. missionary, will speak in our mid-week service.

Sunday, May 3

Contemp0orary service – At 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 3, there will be a contemporary worship service in the fellowship hall; this service will feature contemporary music and a less formal atmosphere than the traditional service, which will begin in the sanctuary at 10:50 a.m. as usual. Jason Prewitt, director of the B.M.A.A. encampment, will bring the message for the contemporary service.
Guest speaker – On Sunday, May 3, Bro. Norcilus,  B.M.A.A. missionary, will speak in our evening service. Note: Bro. Norcilus had to reschedule, and will speak in our service on Wednesday, May 5.

Saturday, May 2

Walk for Life – A Walk for Life event, benefiting the Pregnancy Resource Center, begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Harbor at Rockwall on Saturday, May 2.
Youth
Wi-Fi – Saturday, May 2. Meet at Friendship at 1:30 p.m. to go to Calvary First Baptist for Wi-Fi from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. For more information on this event, as well as other youth activities, please contact our youth minister, Sean Belknap.
